WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM - Our base is on the Zambezi, so plenty of water. But to drink it we need to purify it. Will we need to purify the water if we drill a well? I don’t know. Many other villages drink from questionable streams or water sources. There are different types of systems - which is most cost effective? Which is most long lasting? Can I get the systems in Africa? Is there a way to build one with common materials that can be found in any village? Is there something that can work for a household on small scale, or be magnified for a whole village water system? These are some of the questions I have, and you may have many more.

Hey guys,
We got all of our training on water filters and well drilling from an organization called Equip International in North Carolina. I think it would be great if someone from your team could go through that training and then teach the rest of the team the skills that you learned. If you go through the training, they will give you the plans for the water filters and then if you have the mold made, you can pump out the filters for about US$12 each. They are using the CAWST biosand filters and hand well drilling equipment effectively in Africa. They also do some good drip irrigation stuff. You may also want to check out Hydromissions.
