This page will provide short summaries and links to some of the studies I have done or found that seem to be important for the Body of Christ. My aim is to keep it very practical and innovative - not boring sermons. Articles will cover such topics as:

  • The HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa
  • How to plant Simple churches, and similar topics.
  • Church Planting Movements
  • Reading Luke as a church planting manual
  • World perspectives / Missions
  • Disciple making - it is easier than you think!

So enjoy. And leave your footprint when you go - a comment of disgust or agreement.

  1. READING LUKE AS A CHURCH PLANTING MANUAL - Luke was in the middle of a powerful church planting movement (see a compilation of statistics of growth in the first years of the church), as a member of an apostolic band going strategically from place to place, evangelizing and training leaders who will train other leaders. Could it be that Paul instigated Luke’s writting as a manual to train his leaders? Who knows for sure, but reading it this way has changed forever how I read this book!
  2. T4T Booklet - Here is the booklet we at All Nations are compiling (always in process of perfecting) of “training 4  trainers”. We do not just want to disciple people, but disciple people to disciple others, and thus create a church planting movement. It is not complex. It is just a few basic truths taught with a dogged persistence to settle for nothing less than multiplication. Just a few churches have multiplied with indigenous leaders (all women!!), but we see more happening soon.
  3. Transitioning to a Dynamic Missional Movement by David Broodryk (a fellow South African). This is an excellent article - I will quote here just a bit..

“Jesus told us to go into all the world and be his ambassadors, but most churches today have distorted the “go and be”command with a “come and see” appeal. We have grown attached to buildings, programs, staff and a wide variety of goods and services designed to attract and entertain people. “Missional is a helpful term used to  describe what happens when you and I replace the “come to us” invitations with a “go to them” life. A life where “the way of Jesus” informs and radically transforms our existence to one wholly focused on sacrificially living for him and others.”

  4. A Method to our Madness?? is a concise summery of some of the methods we use in our church planting efforts in Cape Town. Each method has a link to a fuller description or the web site of the innovator of that method. It mentions methodology such as:
  1. The God Story
  2. Finding the Person of Peace
  3. T4T - Training for Trainers
  4. Oikos evangelism
  5. Etc.
