another email contact from Grant Hayes

Hey guys,

We got all of our training on water filters and well drilling from an organization called Equip International in North Carolina. I think it would be great if someone from your team could go through that training and then teach the rest of the team the skills that you learned. If you go through the training, they will give you the plans for the water filters and then if you have the mold made, you can pump out the filters for about US$12 each. They are using the CAWST biosand filters and hand well drilling equipment effectively in Africa. They also do some good drip irrigation stuff. You may also want to check out Hydromissions. Good luck and let us know if you need anything else on this end. God bless!

I am leaving this comment from a friend named Ben Schaal. He wrote on email:

Water Filtration -
>
> Not all filters can protect you from certain parasites and germs.
> There is a very good company from Sweden that makes personal sized
> water filtration products called Katadyn. IT comes recommended from my
> uncle.
>
> Depending on how much clean water you want to produce (village
> surplus, or personal) there are a number of products and resources
> available.
> Here are a few:
>
> Amway water filter called eSpring:

>
> Also Hope College works with a group called Engineers Without
> Borders ( http://www.ewb-usa.org/index.php )who do service
> projects in rural Africa on water welling and filtration projects. I
> am in the process of starting a non-profit called Global Energy Aid
> and hope to work with that program in the near future.
